The Olympic Scholarships Program in 2015/2016 Academic Year

The Vladimir Potanin Foundation announces the Olympic Scholarships Program for 2015/2016 academic year. The competition’s goal is to provide opportunities to promising individuals to get qualified education in sports management, to learn sport administration and organizational skills, and to obtain theories and practices of organizing high level sport events.

Winners of the Competition will get financial support of the Foundation that will allow them to be enrolled for 2015/2016 academic year in the Master of Sport Administration Program (MSA) at the Russian International Olympic University in Sochi.

Individuals, who have received an official confirmation from the RIOU admission board in accordance with university requirements to potential students, can apply for the Competition.

Reviewing applications, the Expert Committee will access the applicants’ academic abilities, their expertise in the field of interest, the English language proficiency, work experience in sport management, including volunteer activities in sports and the Olympic movement. Leadership potential, participation in public initiatives, motivation, and enthusiasm are also important criteria for the selection. English and Russian are the working languages of the Competition.

The Expert Committee takes into account references from the International Olympic Committee, National Olympic Committees, organizing committees of major sports events, international and national sport federations, sport clubs and associations, as well as from the governmental administrations and municipal self-regulation bodies.

To enlarge opportunities for self-organization of students during the study process this year the Foundation provides two options of financial support:

  • Coverage of tuition fee, on-campus accommodation fee and a monthly individual scholarship;
  • Coverage of tuition fee and a monthly individual scholarship.
