Building a Legacy of Leadership Case Presentation

Building a Legacy of Leadership Case Presentation

Date: 13 May, 4pm

Venue: Institute of European, Russian and Eurasian Studies, the George Washington University (Voesar Conference Room 1957 E St NW, Suite 412 Washington DC)

How does a foundation help build a new generation of self-reflective leaders who think critically, challenge themselves, and devote their energy to helping others? How does it expand knowledge and bring professionalism to the arts and education? How can it build a philanthropic community across a nation with nine time zones, an estimated 185 ethnic groups, and a culture where charitable institutions have been absent for decades? These are the questions the Vladimir Potanin Foundation’s founder and staff have been tackling since the Foundation’s beginning in 1999.

As part of IERES' Eurasian Leadership Series this presentation will explore these issues in depth and will utilize data from research and interviews to demonstrate the role that the Vladimir Potanin Foundation has played in shaping leadership, creativity, and philanthropy throughout the Russian Federation.

Speakers:

Oksana Oracheva, General Director, Vladimir Potanin Foundation

Gayle Peterson, Co-Founder and Senior Managing Director, Partners for Change & Programme Director, Impact Investing Saïd Business School, Oxford University.
