The German – Russian Bi-lateral Training Program

The German-Russian Bi-Lateral Training Program introduces museum’s scene in Germany and Russia to museum professionals and offers them an opportunity to learn new educational approaches to exhibition display, best practices in educational activities, public relations and collection management.

The topic for 2015 is Educational Technologies and Audience Development EU – Russia.

The Program consists of two stages. The first stage is scheduled for September 2015 and is a 7-day intensive training and practicums for Russian museum experts in Berlin and Dresden. It is envisaged that the training will include lectures in forefront technologies for museum exhibitions, civic education, and civic engagement; site visits to leading museums in Berlin and Dresden; consultations with advisors, etc.

The second phase which is planned for spring 2016 will build upon the networks and partnerships established under the first stage by a reciprocal visit of German museum professionals to the Russian museums to encourage joint learning and continued collaboration. The second phase will be also open for new participants.

This exchange training program for Russian and German museum professionals is co-funded by the Vladimir Potanin Foundation and the Robert Bosch Stiftung. The study program and leadership will be provided by the Goethe Institute in Germany and the ProArte Foundation for Culture and Arts in Russia.
