Sabate Lobo Ignacio Jose

Ignacio achieved great results in world racquetball and continues to work in this direction as a racquetball coach with the Pan-American Sports Organization (PASO). No doubt, he will have more achievements in the field of sports management.

“To be fair, I was not looking for this program. The RIOU contacted me through my racquetball federation, through the ANOC (Association of National Olympic Committee.) I did not have big expectations about Russia. What I expected here is a good level of English. What we faced here is that in the university there is a good English, but in the streets – no, just few people speak the language. Sochi is very friendly, beautiful, with good weather. I was practicing cycling here. I am glad to come here. The professors were very good. I think, there are the best assets to the university. Since this is an international program, they represent different countries and this enriched a lot our experience. I need to say that here there is the most beautiful sunset I ever seen in my life. I am coming from Caribbean tropical country and we have beautiful sunsets, but here they are amazing. I am planning to complete PhD program related to sports and I would like to do it in my native language – Spanish-speaking program – in Costa Rica (my native country) or even in Spain. I would like to concentrate myself on the research field.”
