Mugera Joseph

Joseph can be considered as a fan and a professional in sports: he is passionate about football and he made sports to be his profession. He graduated from the Makerere University – an old and big university in Uganda, where he received his Bachelor in sport science. For many years he has been teaching physical education and culture for junior schools. He is also a volunteer trainer for rural development support organization. He was a participant of football tournaments of different levels. He showed himself as a highly motivated and hardworking student during his studies at the RIOU.

“I am Ugandan and I come from Campala. I chose the sports career because sports has been a part of me since my childhood. I have been a very good footballer. Above all, I am a physical education teacher as well as a sports scientist. I have been a physical education teacher for a junior school for ten years. I like my job very much. I am not scared to follow my dreams: I received my diploma in physic education, I did sports science bachelor degree and I am now doing a master of sports administration. Sochi has been a very good place for me. This is not the first time I go outside my country. I found the people in Russia here so welcoming. The moment that touched me is when I was asking people on the streets about directions, they were trying so hard to explain me the right way. They did not speak English. For me the main knowledge I got here at the University is analytical and research skills from the best professors. These skills I will use in my PhD research as I am planning to be focused on sports science.’
